Dynamic Gait Support. Discreet Drop-Foot Correction.
The Prim Textile Drop Foot Orthosis (ATX01) is a specialized medical solution designed to restore natural movement for those suffering from flaccid palsy or neurological drop foot. Unlike rigid plastic braces, this textile orthosis consists of a supra-malleolar ankle strap and a discreet shoe-attachment system that connects via a high-tension elastic strap. It provides the essential dorsal flexion needed during the take-off phase of walking while allowing for necessary flexibility during the stance phase. Featuring an inner gel pad for Achilles tendon protection and a padded instep, it ensures a friction-free experience even during extended use.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does this differ from a hard plastic AFO?
Traditional AFOs are rigid and can be bulky inside shoes. This textile version is virtually invisible and allows the foot to move naturally during the stance phase, providing dynamic "lift" only when the foot leaves the ground. It is significantly more comfortable for all-day wear.
Can I wear this with any shoe?
The ATX01 is specifically designed to work with laced shoes. The central hook attaches between the tongue and the laces to provide the necessary leverage for the lifting action. If you wish to wear it barefoot or with slip-ons, you would need the ATX11 Plantar Band accessory.
Is it uncomfortable on the heel?
No. Prim has designed this with an internal gel pad that sits against the Achilles tendon. This protects the sensitive heel area from pressure and friction while the elastic strap is under tension.
